Last season in the Derbyshire Senior Cup we were drawn away to Gresley Rovers but after two postponements due to a waterlogged pitch, the match was switched at short notice to the NMG. The result was Gresley 1 Ilkeston 0.
The season before that we were drawn away to Alfreton Town and lost 6-1 but if I remember rightly, we played much better than the score might suggest.
This seasons Derbyshire Senior Cup - 3rd Round

Was the Alfreton game the one when it snowed during the game? I remember that we were still in the game until quite late but Alfreton forced home their advantage with flurry of late goals in the snow!

Matlock Town have announced the signing of Jake Oram on loan from Doncaster Rovers.
Oram, 18, penned his first professional contract with the Rovers in the summer, before joining NPL East Division side Liversedge in September.
He made 11 appearances for Sedge, keeping clean sheets in four of those games and picking up the accolade of Northern Premier League East Division's October Player of the Month.
The young keeper will now make the move to Ryan Cresswell's Gladiators to further his experience of senior football.

This was considered to be a game of little importance, but it turned out to be a good watch for those who went.
We deserved to win because we played the better football throughout the match and especially in the first half. But it was tight because Matlock are a decent side and gave it a good go in the second half. We defended very well and there were good performances by Yates, Meikle, Wilkinson and Wafula. Up front Cursons had a good game and Alex Hardwick showed what he can bring to the team with his physical presence and some strong runs.

Derbyshire Senior Cup, 3rd Round
Matlock Town 1 Ilkeston Town 2
A first half brace from Tom Cursons enabled Ilkeston go through to the last eight of the Derbyshire Senior Cup at Causeway Lane. All three goals came in an action packed first half.
Matlock keeper Rogan Ravenhill’s mis-kick gave Cursons a chance after only 2 minutes but the Ilkeston striker’s lob cleared the crossbar. Soon after, Gladiators winger Jake Thompson cut inside and tested Matt Yates with a low shot. On 6 minutes Ravenhill brought down Cursons who got up and slammed home the penalty to put Ilkeston ahead. Matlock were level on 14 minutes when ex-Ilkeston striker Remaye Campbell found the corner of the net. Ilkeston responded immediately and Ravenhill did well to push a Cursons effort round the post. Two minutes later Cursons was in again and again Ravenhill denied him but on 23 minutes Ilkeston’s top scorer struck again. He received the ball near the halfway line, got the better of Sam Smart before racing through and lashing the ball past Ravenhill with a fine finish. Campbell’s volley for Matlock brought a low save from Yates then Ilkeston’s keeper brilliantly tipped over a close range header. There was another chance for Matlock just before half time as the hosts pushed for parity but George Wilkinson came to Ilkeston’s rescue and preserved their first half advantage.
The first chance of the second period saw Alex Hardwick just beaten to a forward ball by the outrushing Ravenhill. Matlock thought they should have had a penalty on the hour when Benefit Ndlovu went down but the referee though differently. Yates then saved Campbell’s header but chances were fewer than in the first half and the game became punctuated by many stoppages. Matlock fans were furious when the referee gave them a free kick on the edge of the area instead of a penalty. The Robins were denied a third goal when Callum Minkley’s effort was brilliantly saved by Ravenhill following great buildup play by Connor Dixon. In the closing stages Matlock pushed for a leveller but Harvey Kirby-Moore nearly wrapped up the win for Ilkeston with an effort that flew over the bar.
