Hopkinson header goes over. White breaks forward but he's penalised. First corner to Alvis but it's cleared.
Hopkinson brought down in area Penalty ! Goal ! Jamie Walker slots the penalty home 1-0 7minutes

Terrific save by Tregarth from Ben Morris and again from Morris. McGarrity gets a shot in for Alvis but its too high. Pitch is cutting up in places.

Gibson volley hits a defender and goes for a corner. Some neat play by Alvis. Walker shot skims the far post.

Alvis keeper does well under pressure at foot of post. Alvis break and almost create a chance. Gibson fires too high . We're half way through first half and its still 1-0.

Corner to Ilkeston following good spell by Alvis. Keeper collects. Deflected Alvis shot loops over bar for corner but corner comes to nothing. Marshall high long shot has keeper bak pedalling. Gibson can't direct header into the goal. 1-0 40 minutes

Apparently Alvis have several new players. Some Alvis supporters are suggesting this is the reason for the improved performance today.

Hopkinson nearly scores immediately. Hopkinson close again but keeper saves well. Marshall cross beats everyone. Cheshire does well to block Hopkinson close range shot. 1-0 55 minutes.

Alvis no 9 off (King) replaced by no 14 (Maguire).

Walker wins corner for Ilkeston. Yellow card for Montel Gibson . Don't know the reason. 62 minutes

It was strange that the Alvis officials told Ilkeston's officials on friday that there was little chance of the game being played. The pitch was soft but quite playable. Alvis included several new players brought in by their new management team. Two late goals made the win look more emphatic than it actually was. Alvis looked better than a team at the bottom with some decent periods of possession but they never looked like scoring. After the early penalty goal conceded Alvis stayed in contention until half way through the second half when Jamie Walker's 30 yarder gave Ilkeston the comfort of a two goal lead. Tim Hopkinson got a tap in on 86 minutes and Montel Gibson scored with the last kick of game.
