    When Danny Draper posted this on Basford' s Facebook page, I wondered if he might be coming to Ilkeston

    After nine incredible years of service, Matt Thornhill departs Greenwich Avenue.Fittingly, his final act in an Ambers shirt was receiving the Player of the Decade award from Owner Chris Munroe, a testament to his immense contribution both on and off the pitch.Matty now takes on a new challenge at Step 3 and leaves with the club’s full gratitude and best wishes.Thank you for everything, Matty, a true Basford great.
