How does he do it ?

We are pleased to announce the following exciting upcoming changes to the club around the ground as well as to the Ladies and Junior teams, as laid out by club owner David Hilton:

- MTFC Ladies have received an immediate minimum guaranteed investment of £20,000 for season 2025/26.

- Funds have been made available to our junior sides that struggle to fund new kit and accessories.

- Over £22,000 committed to machinery for pitch maintenance and enhancement.

- New stadium/pitch speakers and a tannoy system covering all areas of the ground to help improve the matchday atmosphere and to ensure that any announcements can be received by everyone in attendance.

- Conversion of the current bar to a sports bar with giant video wall screens showing Sky Sports, TNT and all other live sports. A large new bar and cellar, a new dance floor, gaming machines, football and pool tables and a state-of-the-art sound system.

- A new board room including a private bar.

- A new matchday hospitality suite for sponsors

- Starlink Internet to provide fast broadband, both fixed at the club and roaming equipment to ensure media updates are always available away from home.

- Impressive new home and away changing facilities.

- We have assembled one of the strongest squads the club has had in recent years, and we are very excited for the 25/26 season and beyond.

- Our sister site MatlockTown.TV will soon be launched, which will offer sponsorship opportunities, improved match highlights, interviews with the manager, players and supporters, plus much more.

- A new internal and external CCTV system to align with licensing requirements

All of the above is already happening right now, and most will be completed in time for the Chesterfield FC fixture on Saturday, 5th July.

Further to this, planning is currently being worked on to create a clubhouse garden in place of the current car park, along with enhancements to the Town End Stand in order to improve our supporters' match day experience.

Finally, a new single-storey stand and further facilities are planned, including parking for our Causeway Lane side in 2026.

We've had several questions from people who have noticed the hive of activity at the club, and we are excited to share these improvements with our fantastic fanbase as we continue to look to the future with great ambition and a desire to build upon the foundations of our great club.

With Dave's backing, Matlock will be favourites to win the NPL East Division next season and make an immediate return to Step 3.

Re: How does he do it ?

The question ‘How does he do it?’ is a difficult one to answer. This is Dave’s third club intervention and when you look back at his previous clubs (including Ilkeston) there are pluses and minuses. I feel that at this present moment in time it is still a bit soon and probably too controversial to analyse Dave Hilton too much. However when people do it could make quite a story!

the thing is Nallly he isnt just the owner hes a massive fan as well , so going onto bigger didnt suit him, i maybe wrong though.  Just look at what he has done at the club ..... Dave wanted bigger things again i maybe wrong ...
Another thing i love about Nally he isnt going to pay stupid wages if they arent going to earn it ..... The future of the club is well more important than paying big wages to players .....

                               +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Dave Hilton and Andrew Nally came to Ilkeston together (originally as unnamed investors). They oversaw the installation of massive ground improvements including the new artificial pitch.
As Kev said - when the opportunity came to buy Scunthorpe United, Dave couldn't resist and went for it. Unfortunately it didn't work out and he is now at Matlock Town.
Andy was left as sole owner at Ilkeston and is proving to be an ambitious, committed and popular custodian driving the club forward in a careful and prudent manner.

Re: How does he do it ?

I’ve been back in Ilson on holiday for a week and walked down to the ground and could not get over how smart and professional it looks! When I was first looking at emigrating oop north the NMG was falling apart. It is now thanks to Andy and Dave one of the smartest sporting venues outside the Football League in the area!  We should be very proud of the NMG!
