Lottery funding boost for Ashton United volunteers
07 Jul 2025
Ashton United in the Community is celebrating being awarded £19,575 by the National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an exciting new project - AUITC: Volunteers Matter.
This funding will enable AUITC to recruit, retain, and reward the dedicated volunteers who are at the heart of the organisation's community work. Over the next 12 months, the project will focus on enhancing the volunteer experience by providing essential equipment, support, and recognition. The project will provide essential tools and resources, including PPE and warm, weather-appropriate clothing, refreshments for volunteers during activities and recognition events, where volunteers can come together to celebrate their achievements and receive certificates and badges. AUITC Project Manager, Steve Hobson, said: "We are delighted to receive this award which in part reinforces the King's Award for Voluntary Service we achieved recently. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation, making a huge impact in our community. "Additionally, we support volunteers on their journey — whether it’s gaining knowledge, skills, and experience, working towards qualifications, or simply being part of a team and making friends along the way."
