With so many trialists trying to impress we saw a game of attacking football devoid of negativity. Ten goals on the night and both sides could have scored more.

After the match Deaks said he was well pleased with the efforts of the trialists and he praised the performances of several of them. Unfortunately only one or two of them are likely to be taken on. Deaks also mentioned that he had been contacted by several other well known players who wanted to play for Ilkeston including some surprise names. But he also said that he didn't want to break the team spirit of last seasons players

A lot of fans missed this match because they knew there would be a lot of trialists playing. That's fair enough but it turned out to be a really good match with both teams in attacking mode.  Ilkeston fielded some really good trialists and it's a pity that most of them will not be selected to return.
Had a good look at Logan Green and as Alex commented he's useful. I had my doubts about Robbie Fox but not any more. What a work rate.
