.
We go again on Saturday at Bamber Bridge who have made a decent start to the season.
They have beaten Guiseley and Leek, drew with Cleethorpes and lost to Rylands
Hopefully after win lose, win lose, it’s our turn to win again.

Since we were moved to the Northern Premier League from the Southern League at the end of the 2022-23 season Bamber Bridge has been a lucky ground for us. Last season we won by 2-1 and the season before that we won by 4-1.

Apologies for my failure to deliver updates at Warrington. My updates wouldn’t up-load for some reason.
Anyway, I will be trying again at Bamber Bridge and hopefully updates will be back to normal.

It’s MATCH DAY and really hoping for a win or draw.
A win keeps us near the top of the table
If we lose we’ll be in the bottom half
We just need to put away our chances which we didn’t do at Warrington.
The last time we lost 3 of our first 5 matches was 9 seasons ago in our 2016-17 relegation season
Sat 27 Aug 2016 H Ashton Utd Evo-Stik Premier L 0 - 2

I can't remember the abandoned home game with Hednesford but I could have been on holiday.
Can anyone else remember it and why it was abandoned?

15 minutes to kickoff . I’ve got a good view from the halfway line and so far so good.
There's a small dog in the seat next to me.

Deaks has said that the emphasis is on attack today.
The pitch looks in good condition

Great run by Poilly leaves Marshall standing but the shot goes over the bar.
Both sides are attacking. Brandy is playing on the left. BB 1. Ilkeston 0. 12 minutes

Good attacking game so far. Chance for Bange but he runs out of steam and falls over when about to shoot. Really good close range save by Wharton. BB1 Ilkeston 0. 21 mins

Good Ilkeston attack but Kirby-Moore is crowded out. Great interception by Essien. Confrontation between Abankwah and Parker. Ref sorts it out without showing cards. BB 1 Ilkeston. 0. 27 mins

Silly handball by Bamber defender . Free kick central but 30 yards out. Essien hits the wall and the ball runs safe for Bamber. another good save by Wharton. It's Bamber looking more likely just now. 1-0. 35 mins

Good defending by Sam Parker. Essien receiving treatment. He’s okay. Bange is proving a hand full of. He’s big and knows how to play rough. Free kick to Bamber in good position Everyone up for it but it’s Fox who clears.
Half Time. Bamber 1 Ilkeston 0

Bamber are worth their lead as they’ve had far more chances to score, but Ilkeston are still in this game.

Have to say Bamber Bridge looked a very good side in the first half. Cracking goal; similar to Brandy’s, right in the top corner.
Second half is underway.......

Walker wins a corner but he’s taken a knock. Fox header not far off target. Great header by Bange but equally good save by Wharton. This is best I’ve seen of Wharton. Bamber 1 Ilkeston 0. 54 mins

Marshall off injured replaced by Whyle. Stevens pulled back, Yellow for Bamber player. Now Walker booked. Free kick Bamber near corner flag. Wharton collects. Bamber 1 Ilkeston 0. 60 mins

Corner to Bamber - They’re quick on the counter attack. Ryan Perkins gets a yellow ( laughable ).
Fox goes down in area - Ref says No. Walker fouled again another Bamber yellow. Free kick comes in and walker header is wide.
Goal by Baxter. 2-0. Bamber. on 75 mins

Good Ilkeston counter but it’s only a corner. Deflection goes straight into Dowlings hands. How lucky for him.
Walker fires over. Bamber 2 Ilkeston 0. 82 mins

Good play by Stevens but Daniel's shot is too high.
4 minutes added
Ilkeston denied what looked like an obvious pen.
It’s finished and another defeat.
