Been talking to one of the Griff officials. Apparently, Atherstone rang them after last weeks match to congratulate them on taking two points off us last week.

It's a young looking Nuneaton Griff side. Both teams have had a chance so far. Morris feeds Walker and Walker's shot goes just the wrong side of the post. 0-0 7 minutes

Morris breaks and crosses perfectly for Walker but keeper saves again. Despite being a man short Ilkeston are attacking with menace. At the other end its a free kick for Griff. Shot hits the wall.

Wonderful control by Jamie Walker and he thunders his shot goal wards but Bailey denies him. Morris is then denied by a great save.
Walker is chopped down but Griff player only gets yellow.

After two below par performances, Ilkeston were much better against Griff. In the two previous games Ilkeston appeared to be affected by lack of match practice but showed a much needed return to form on Saturday. It's good that some of the players who weren't getting in the team are now showing what they can do and will be pressing for a place in the starting line-up. Alex Marshall will be suspended for the next three matches but thankfully, on form Tim Robinson is a ready made replacement. Or will Steve push our top player Jamie Walker forward as he did against Griff? Micah Edwards has looked strong when he's been in the team and Tom Marshall gets better every game.
The only criticism after the 4-1 win against Griff was that we didn't convert more of the numerous opportunities that came our way. We don't seem to be as ruthless as Walsall Wood.

Forgot to mention a player that I have always rated. Ben Morris was excellent against Griff.
