Re: Sat 1st Nov 25 : Stockton v Ilkeston : 3pm

Best away performance I've seen that. Bossed it all over the pitch. Every player at least a 7/10. Gave them nothing all game. Harvey gaining confidence every game (is that 7 in 7 now?) and MoM I guess but Thornhill and Dixon fantastic in the middle, Marshall and Minkley won every header at the back. Played some really good football and won every 50-50. We looked a really good side today.

Re: Sat 1st Nov 25 : Stockton v Ilkeston : 3pm

Most supporters would have been happy to take a point from Stockton . But we stunned them with two goals in each half and a brilliant team performance. The normally rowdy and loud Stockton crowd were silenced into submission. Every player was outstanding today. Scoring two goals usually gets you MOTM but Connor Dixon and Matt Thornhill were particularly outstanding throughout. And what a goal by Jordan Stevens. That’s six wins and a draw in our last seven matches with three home games to come.

Re: Sat 1st Nov 25 : Stockton v Ilkeston : 3pm

.
Sat 1st November 2025
Northern Premier League
Stockton Town 0 Ilkeston Town 4

Records tumbled as Ilkeston produced one of their best away performances against high flying Stockton. Harvey Kirby-Moore scored twice in the first half and has now scored seven times in his last seven games while for the Robins it was a a 7th game unbeaten and a 4th consecutive away win.

The match started at pace and Stockton’s Cameron Painter saw his early effort clear the crossbar. At the other end Jamie Walker’s in swinging corner forced a fingertip save from Nathan Harker to prevent it going in. Colin Daniel, Matt Thornhill and Jordan Stevens all had shots blocked while Stockton fans wanted a penalty when Alfie Roberts dived and grabbed the ball at Painter’s feet. Stockton then went close twice with an effort that bounced off the post and an Adam Nicholson header just too high. On 33 minutes Ilkeston took the lead with a close range strike by Kirby-Moore after fine build up play by Seth Okyere and Stevens. Soon after Stockton had a lucky escape when keeper Harker spilled a cross but on 37 minutes it was 2-0 when Kirby-Moore struck again. Stockton made a big effort to pull one back here half time and Sam Parker did well to get in the way of attempt by Kevin Hayes.

Soon after the restart Ilkeston had a penalty shout rejected when Connor Dixon went down from Nicholson’s challenge. Stockton made a triple substitution and one of the entrants, Stephen Thompson saw Roberts off his line and launched a long shot not which was far wide. But on the hour Stockton’s chances of getting anything from the game were diminished when Nicholson saw red for a last man challenge on Kirby-Moore. Ilkeston made their numerical advantage count and Stevens finished off a fine move in style with a superb strike past Harker on 67 minutes. Stockton weren’t giving up and Parker cleared off the line before Thompson fizzed an effort over the bar. Parker made it 4-0 on 86 minutes with a curler from just inside the box into the far corner of the net to wrap up the scoring.

Re: Sat 1st Nov 25 : Stockton v Ilkeston : 3pm

.
Have to say we have a really strong squad now.  Yesterday we had a strong bench in Fox, Brandy, Whyle, Blaize and Ross-Lang and we were without suspended influential players Essien and Youmbi. I think Tom Marshall will miss the next match after he picked up a 5th yellow card against Stockton.
The next two matches are against the two Ashton teams, United and Curzen.
Ashton United got stuffed 4-0 by Cleethorpes yesterday while Curzon drew 3-3 at Hereford.

NPL POUND UP OF MATCHES PLAYED SAT 1ST NOV  25

Warrington Rylands maintained their grip on top spot as George Waring's first-half double saw them past Leek Town.

Having extended their unbeaten league run to eight matches, Neil Reynolds' side remain two points clear of second-placed FC United of Manchester. Mark Beesley's side were 2-0 winners at Bamber Bridge, with second-half goals from Dec Evans and substitute Ruben Grewal inflicting a second defeat upon their opponents in the space of a week after a 1-0 home win in the FA Trophy the previous Saturday.

Below the top two, Lancaster City were held to a goalless draw at home to Whitby Town, in one of only two scoreless games across the four NPL divisions.

Meanwhile, Hednesford Town moved up to fourth after enjoying a convincing 5-1 victory away at Guiseley. The Pitmen found themselves four goals up at half-time, with Montel Gibson making it five early in the second half. Jordan Thewlis pulled one back for Guiseley, who will now begin life under the newly-appointed Ian Richards after Liam Ridehalgh took charge of his final game as interim boss.

Stockton Town remain in the play-off places, despite a heavy 4-0 home defeat at the hands of the side who are now immediately below them in the table, Ilkeston Town. Harvey Kirby-Moore's first-half brace set the Robins on their way to all three points, with further strikes from Jordan Stevens and Sam Parker wrapping up a sixth win in seven matches in all competitions for Ian Deakin's side.

A 4-0 away win also came the way of Cleethorpes Town as they brushed aside Ashton United to climb to ninth in the table. Josh Walker scored in either half for the Owls, with further goals from Callum Foster and Billy Whitehouse helping them to their biggest-ever win at Step 3.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Hyde United and Prescot Cables as both moved up a place in the table. For Hyde, Nyal Bell's goal inside a minute against basement side Morpeth Town set them on their way to back-to-back wins, with the Tigers forced to wait until 14 minutes from time for substitute Max Harrop to wrap up the points with his first touch.

A 2-0 win also came the way of Cables as first-half goals from Alex McNally and returning Everton loanee Bradley Moonan saw them past Rushall Olympic, ending a run of four league games without a win in the process.

The biggest winners of the afternoon were Hebburn Town, who scored a remarkable eight without reply against Warrington Town. Despite coming into the game with four successive victories under their belts in all competitions, the Yellows were outclassed by a Hebburn side that had only scored a total of 11 goals in their six league games prior to Saturday's win. Olly Martin scored a second-half hat-trick for the Hornets, while further goals came from Matthew Elsdon, Campbell Darcy, Jack Foalle (2) and Gary Martin.

The final game of the weekend saw Workington Town pick up an important three points at Stocksbridge Park Steels. The only goal came shortly before the hour mark courtesy of Kai Nugent, with the visitors earning just their second league win of the season. For Stocksbridge, defeat leaves them 17th in the table but out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Results - Saturday 1 November

  • Ashton United 0-4 Cleethorpes Town
  • Bamber Bridge 0-2 FC United of Manchester
  • Guiseley 1-5 Hednesford Town
  • Hebburn Town 8-0 Warrington Town

  • Rushall Olympic 0-2 Prescot Cables
