10th Jan’26 : Ilkeston v Morpeth : NMG 3pm

Our first home game of 2026 is against Morpeth and an opportunity to pull away from the relegation end of the table as most of our rivals have difficult matches.
Hyde are away to Lancaster
Leek are home to FC United
Prescot are away Stockton
Rushall are away to Rylands
Workington look doomed and are away to Whitby
Stocksbridge have no match

Ten weeks ago Morpeth were bottom of the league but since then they have made a remarkable recovery.
In their last ten matches they’ve won 5 drawn 2 and lost 3
But they have a very poor away record : P11, Won 1, Drawn 2, Lost 8.
They didn’t win an away match until Boxing Day when they won 2-1 at Whitby.

Over the last 10 matches Morpeth’s 17 points is only bettered by Hednesford (21 points) and Hebburn (27 points) so this is not the straight forward win that some people might think.
But Morpeth's last 10 matches include only 4 away matches (1 win, 1 draw , 2 defeats)
Ilkeston's last home match against Rushall ended a run of 4 home defeats without scoring.
So the match is: Ilkeston with a poor home record against Morpeth with a poor away record.

In the three seasons since Ilkeston returned to the NPL Premier Division Ilkeston have a good record against Morpeth. Ilkeston have won on the last four occasions that the two teams have met.

Just seen the pictures of our volunteers clearing the pitch. Looks like it’s game on.
Local Weather forecast is for no significant snow tomorrow so we should be okay.
Hednesford v Hebburn is postponed
Pitch inspections at:
Cleethorpes v Warrington Town. 9 00 am tomorrow
Guiseley v Bamber Bridge 9 45 am tomorrow
Warrington Rylands v Rushall. 10 00 am tomorrow
