Re: 10th Jan’26 : Ilkeston v Morpeth : NMG 3pm

.
Only three games survived the conditions in the NPL Premier Division on Saturday, with FC United of Manchester and Ilkeston Town the winners of the weekend.

Mark Beesley’s FC United side claimed a 1-0 victory at Leek Town to move level with second-placed Hebburn Town. Matty Thomson put FC United ahead in the first half, and his side held out for the rest of the game to secure an 11th clean sheet of the campaign and a return to winning ways after two without.
Elsewhere, Ilkeston stretched their unbeaten run to four matches with a big 3-1 win against Morpeth Town in a six-pointer down near the bottom of the table.
Morpeth had the lead going into half-time after Joe Brayson capitalised on a defensive mishap to break the deadlock, but Ian Deakin’s side rallied in the second half to take all three points. Sam Parker levelled things up, before a brace from Harvey Kirby-Moore ensured Ilkeston moved five points clear of the drop zone.

The only other game to go ahead this weekend ended goalless, with nothing separating Whitby Town and Workington.

  • Cleethorpes Town P-P Warrington Town
  • Guiseley P-P Bamber Bridge

Harvey gets hammered by defenders every game but he keeps going and what an absolutely superb finish that was for our 3rd goal.

In the 13 years of footballwebpages statistics, no team has been relegated from the Northern Premier League having attained 50 points. So that is the target. We’re now on 30 points so another 20 points are needed to be as sure as you can be of avoiding the drop.

49 points is the most points attained by a relegated team and the three unlucky teams to be relegated with 49 points were:
Marine and Witton Albion in season 2014-15 (both finished on 49 points, one point behind Stamford)
Frickley in season 2013-14 (they finished 4 points behind Marine)
