Tuesday evening we take on Alfreton Town in the Derbyshire Senior Cup for a place in the semi finals.
Alfreton play in the National League North but they’re not having a good season and are battling to avoid relegation.

Their record this season is : P.24 W5. D7. L12. F20. A45. Pts22

Alfreton lost on Saturday at Darlington but won their previous match against Leamington.

When the two teams met last season in the Derbyshire Senior Cup, Alfreton were the winners by 1-0.

This is a chance for both teams to pick up silverware so it should be a good game with a fair number of fans making the short journey from Alfreton.

Car Parking:
Due to our neighbour taking back his land and fencing it off, the size of our car park is reduced so if coming by car it’s advisable to arrive early and enjoy the superb new comfort of our refurbished clubhouse.

Hope we get a good turnout for this Derbyshire Senior Cup match after such a brilliant performance on Saturday against Lancaster City. It’s definitely worth a fiver to watch a local derby.

Jake Buxton`s side look for confidence boost with short trip to local rivals in Derbyshire Senior Cup

Alfreton Town take a break from the rigours of the National League North when they resume their County Cup journey with a very short trip to local rivals Ilkeston Town in the Quarter Finals stage of the competition.I
n recent times, the Reds have fared rather well in the Derbyshire Senior Cup, not conceding a goal in their last six outings dating back to 2024, culminating in lifting the trophy in April as County Champions after a penalty shootout success over league rivals Buxton.
On the way to glory, Alfreton met Ilkeston at the exact stage of last season’s competition with an early Liam Waldock goal proving enough to secure a hard fought passage to the next round via a 1-0 scoreline.
The Robins of Ilkeston and Reds of Alfreton have met in three of the four seasons of the Derbyshire Senior Cup since the return from COVID break. Alfreton secured a resounding 6-1 rout of their rivals at the Solana Stadium (formerly Impact Arena) back in 2022.
Ilkeston are still under the stewardship of boss Ian Deakin, who was appointed to the role at the New Manor Ground back in September 2023.
After narrowly missing out on the playoffs last season, it’s been a more inconsistent season this time around for the Robins as they sit in 10th with 10 wins 3 draws and 13 defeats, with 33 points from 26 league games played in the Northern Premier League Premier Division
Ilkeston Town booked their place in this round with a 7-1 thrashing of Borrowash Victoria in the previous round.
Jake Buxton will be eager to register a morale boosting win ahead of a huge six pointer at the Solana Stadium on Saturday against relegation rivals Bedford Town.

12-16 year olds are £2 with Under 11s free

By Car: From Alfreton, head south on the A38 towards Derby. Take the exit for Ilkeston and continue on the B6007, following signs for the town centre. Once in Ilkeston, follow local signage to the football stadium.
