Charlie Carter signs one-month loan for Ilkeston Town

Ilkeston Town are pleased to announce that Charlie Carter has joined the club on a one-month loan from EFL League One side Mansfield Town.The 21-year-old midfielder arrives at the Microlise New Manor Ground after a short-term loan spell with Northern Premier League side Gainsborough Trinity last month. Carter spent the second half of last season on loan at Carlton Town where he made 29 appearances in the NPL East Division and found the back of the net against Belper Town. Named Mansfield Town’s ‘Academy Player of the Year’ in the 2021/22 season, Carter signed a professional contract with the Stags in May 2023 and featured alongside current Ilkeston Town defender Tyler Whyle in the Mansfield Town U21s side that went on to win the Central League Cup last season.Welcome to Ilkeston Town, Charlie!

I’ve been really impressed with Charlie. I think he played at full back in his first match for us and he did well. When we gave him a chance in midfield he became exceptional. He settled in so quickly and with his work rate and involvement I made him MOTM against Belper. I really hope we can extend his one month loan period.
