    Ilkeston Town sign defender Jay Abudu

    We are pleased to announce the signing of versatile defender Jay Abudu. The 19-year-old right back, who can also be deployed as a defensive midfielder, joins the Robins after a spell with Portuguese Second Division side Leixões Sport Club. A former Sheffield United and Chesterfield academy player, Abudu made his debut for the Spireites in a 4-0 over Southport in the FA Trophy at the age of 17. During his time in North Derbyshire, Abudu spent a season on loan at Staveley Miners Welfare and went on to make two further first-team appearances for Chesterfield. Abudu will be available for selection in tomorrow’s home match at the Microlise New Manor Ground against Guiseley AFC. Welcome to Ilkeston Town, Jay!
