Easter Saturday and we’re into the final month of the 2025-26 season. Another 3 points should see any lingering relegation fears come to an end as we look to avenge a narrow defeat suffered early in the season at Warrington.
This match will be quickly followed by our Easter Monday visit to Rushall so let’s see if we can pick up another 3 points from this one too.

Warrington Town were relegated from the National League North at the end of the last season and they made a poor start to this season, winning only one of their first eleven league and Cup matches (That single win being against Ilkeston). On 11th October they were in the bottom 3 with just 6 points from 9 league matches.
They gradually recovered and are now mid table with 47 points from 36 matches, that’s 3 points more than Ilkeston who have played a game less.
A win for Ilkeston would see us go above Warrington because we have a better goal difference.

WarringtonTown's away record this season: P18. W4. D4. L10. F21. A42. Pts16

Our remaining fixtures:
Sat 04 Apr. Warrington Town (H)
Mon 06 Apr. Rushall Olympic (A)
Sat 11 Apr Bamber Bridge. (H)
Sat 18 Apr Stocksbridge P S (A)
Tue 21 Apr Glossop North End (Pride Park)
Sat 25 Apr FC United (H)
It would be amazing to win our next 4 league matches, then the Derbyshire Senior Cup before ending the season at home to FC United .
If FC United need to win to get automatic promotion what a final match that would be.

This weekends fixtures are spread over 3 days:
Thu 2nd Apr 7 45 pm : Cleethorpes v Stocksbridge.
Fri 3rd Apr 3 pm. : Ashton Utd v Rushall
Fri 3rd Apr. 1 30 pm : Hednesford v Prescot
Fri 3rd Apr 3pm : Lancaster v Morpeth
Fri 3rd Apr. 6 30 pm : Leek v Bamber Bridge
Fri 3rd Apr. 3pm. : Stockton v Gainsborough.
Fri 3rd Apr 3pm. : Whitby v FC United
Sat 4th Apr. 3pm : Guiseley v Hyde
Sat 4th Apr. 3pm. : Ilkeston v Warrington Town
Sat 4th Apr. 3pm : W Rylands v Workington
All teams in the bottom six have tough away matches. If Stocksbridge, Morpeth, Prescot, Hyde, Rushall or Workington could avoid defeat and pick up points it would a massive boost to their survival chances.
But a win for Ilkeston and no points for the bottom teams would leave us 11 points clear of the drop with only 4 games to play.

Easter recollections
Last season we picked up just 1 point over Easter, losing 0-4 at Macclesfield on the Saturday and drawing 1-1 at the NMG with Matlock on Easter Monday.
The season before we drew 2-2 with Bradford Park Avenue at the NMG on the Saturday and won 2-1 at Matlock on the Monday
The season before that when in the Southern League, we beat Hednesford 4-1 at the NMG then lost 2-1 at Basford on Easter Monday.
Let’s see if we can pick up six points this Easter starting with Warrington Town

MATCH DAY
Sat April 4th and we’re into the last month of the season
Leek Town’s Good Friday win against Bamber Bridge means we drop a place to 14th but all of the other teams below us lost which makes our current total of 44 points look almost enough to keep us up. Almost certainly, 3 points against Warrington Town today would ensure our safety and give us a chance of a mid table finish.
I’m back doing match updates after missing the Prescot Cables match.
