Weird things began to happen at 3.41 PM. Clearly understandable... Were we at home...? We are we away? I guess we lost!

Deaks will come on and say
it’s not good enough
its not what I. Expect
we didn’t get started
blah blah blah,
if we’d have won the comments would have been the same as after the last win, I back my lads , we never give in blah blah blah.
same old analysis, we’re stale and need an injection of something or a change , to late this season. The attendances don’t lie.
Any body playing us home or away will go into the game thinking they will win no matter what their league position is.

.
Easter Monday 6th April 2026
Northern Premier League
Rushall Olympic 2 Ilkeston Town 0
Another sending off and defeat at Rushall keeps Ilkeston’s relegation fears alive. Goalkeeper Alfie Roberts’s ill-judged advance from his goal to the half way line to get involved in a handbags situation proved costly and means the Robins will be without him for the final games of the season. So a possible six point Easter haul became a one point disaster.
Ilkeston were first to create a chance when a good move ended with Jay Abudu’s cross causing panic in the Rushall goal. The Pics hit back with a Max Ram header going wide then after some pin ball in the Ilkeston area, a shot going wide. Rushall started to gain ascendency and Roberts was forced into a good save. Towards half time Ilkeston started to come back into the game and Robbie Fox did really well to create an opportunity for Sam Parker whose header was wide. Jamie Walker saw his shot blocked by a defender before Roberts was forced into an important save at the other end. A scrappy first half of few chances ended goalless.
The second half started with a bang. Rushall skipper Liam McAlinden lit the fuse when he fired Rushall ahead on 52 minutes. Straight afterwards, Pic’s defender Max Ram was sent off for a reaction to a challenge. This would have given Ilkeston a man advantage but in the scuffle that followed, Roberts got involved and he saw red too. With no substitute keeper Jamie Walker had to go into goal. Rushall keeper Jake Laban dropped the ball following a cross and was relieved to be given a free kick. Colin Daniel hit a vicious shot wide then Taylor Anderson sent a brilliant cross into the Rushall goalmouth but no one was there to provide the finish. Rushall were always ready to counter attack and the score remained 1-0 until the 90th minute when Anthony Dwyer made sure of a Rushall victory.

What a terrible Easter for the fans. A hugely disappointing team performance followed by being stuck in Rushall for nearly 3 hours. The usual problem of inconsistency and ill-discipline condemned us to a 18th defeat in 37 matches our worst season since 2016-17 when we were relegated.
