The second half has started well with both sides attacking and a lively atmosphere. Great skill by Essien leaves a defender standing then Fox's cross is just reached by Atherton. 1-1. 58 mins

Ian Deakin brought to an end his 3 year stint as Ilkeston’s manager after a superb last match victory over playoff achievers FC United of Manchester. Frankie Shepherd made his debut in goal for Ilkeston replacing suspended Alfie Roberts. Despite going behind Ilkeston fought their way back into the game with three outstanding strikes. The first by Charlie Carter was surely one of the best goals seen at the New Manor ground this season and this was followed by an outstanding brace from Harvey Kirby-Moore.
Ilkeston started well with plenty of possession but without creating many real scoring chances. Impressive work by Matt Thornhill provided an opportunity for Daniel Odunaiya but his effort was saved by Daniel Atherton. Ilkeston were unfortunate to go behind when Jay Abudu was adjudged to have fouled Jay Fitzmartin in the box when challenging for a forward ball. The generous penalty decision was gratefully accepted and converted by Adam Le Fondre. Ilkeston deservedly equalised with a stunning volley from Charlie Carter so that the teams went in level at half time.
Ilkeston cotinued on the front foot in the second half and were rewarded with a super finish into the top corner by Kirby-Moore on 67 minutes. Two minutes later he did it again to give Ilkeston a 3-1 lead. Odunaiya provided the assists for both. Back came FC United but the Robins were defending well. However FC United did pull a goal back on 80 minutes to create a tense finish although it was Ilkeston who looked the more likely to score in the remaining time. Ilkeston’s win gives them a mid table 11th place finish while FC United finished 3rd.
