Oh dear. That’s Walker, Essien, Parker and Fox gone already. I fear we’re in for a long hard season unless we sign some decent replacements. Tristram said at the AGM not to expect a playoff challenge. I think we can say that’s for sure. I just hope that we don't have a collapse like Long Eaton had when Deaks left there.

Some players will be waiting to see where Deaks rocks up next. Some players will temporarily play for other teams like what happened when he left Long Eaton as several players played for Loughborough Dynamo for a short spell. One thing was obvious when we ditched Deaks is that a lot of his squad will follow where he goes. That loyalty was great when Deaks was our manager and being seen as successful but as soon as the club and many fans had their doubts it was obvious you could not dispense with Deaks without losing the players. Ultimately we have to hope the new management team can build an entertaining team which will play attractive football that will bring back the crowds. I did not seem meant games last season but many fans appeared to view the team has attritional and hard working but lacking in flair and creativity.
It will be different and at times it will be better and sometimes worse. Let’s hope ther are better than worse!
