We are delighted to confirm that Jake Buxton is remaining as manager of the football club for the 2026/27 season and will continue to be assisted by Ben Turner. Work is already well underway on confirming those players who will be staying and leaving the club, alongside identifying and bringing in new additions ahead of the new campaign. Preparations continue behind the scenes as we look ahead to next season. #ATFC #Ofton 11 May 2026

Alfreton prospects have now taken a turn for the better. Suddenly they look like possible promotion contenders.

If you’re missing your football, here’s a chance to watch two teams who will be in our league next season .
Alfreton v Curzon Ashton. Curzon came from 0-3 down but a draw and results elsewhere meant both teams were relegated. Frantic period of added time.
Well worth a watch

Connor Dixon signs for Alfreton. So that's Connor Dixon, Sam Parker, and Reco Fyfe gone to Alfreton (so far).

We are delighted to announce that Dylan Youmbi has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. Following an impressive end to last season, Dylan attracted interest from multiple clubs at a higher level, but has committed his future to the Reds. Welcome back, Dylan!

Daniel Adunaiya the latest to sign for Alfreton ...
Very disappointing Daniel's leaving. And with Tyler Whyle leaving (a good prospect at centre-half I thought), it's starting to get a little concerning.

Very disappointing that four of our best players last season are now with our Derbyshire rivals Alfreton:
Sam Parker,
Connor Dixon,
Daniel Odunaiya and
Dylan Youmbi.
They will probably remind us how good they were when we play against them in the Bank holiday games
Alfreton are no doubt looking for a quick return to Step 2
There will be some good teams trying to win the league or get into the playoffs this coming season and I think the following teams will make up the top half of the table
Champions
Bury
Playoff contenders:
Alfreton
Curzon Ashton
Redcar
Avro
FC United
Warrington Rylands
Stockton
Lancaster
Gainsborough
Ashton United
