We commence pre-season friendlies tomorrow against Step 5 side Belper United at Mickleover’s ground .
It's a first chance to see what sort of team Tris and Aaron have been able to put together. It’s a unique sitation with Colin Daniel and Jordan Stevens the only two regulars from last season who remain at the Club so it will be an almost completely new team and the first time our players have played as a together in a match situation . For sure it’s going to take a few friendlies for them to get to know each other but we should at least see the skill levels of individual players.
Here’s hoping Tris and Aaron surprise us with the quality of players they have persuaded to sign and good luck to the trialists who are still hoping to make the squad.

I’m told No 9 is Jevin Seaton. He is having a good game up front. Ilkeston goals have been scored by 8, 9 and 10.
It was an even game for 30 minutes but ilkeston got right on top in the last 15 minutes.

This was the first time our new team has played together as a unit in a competitive match so I would say it was a promising start . It’s going to take a few matches for the players to get used to each other but a 4-2 win is a decent start,
