This season seems like stepping into the unknown with our completely new team so I think we need to make a decent start.
Our home form throughout the season has to be good but Stockton first match is a tough start.
So the following two matches (both away) against what looks like less difficult opponents Emley and Whitby; we must pickup points.

Ilkeston will be quarter of the way through the season by mid September! We should know by then what kind of season it is going to be. Yes Stockton might be a difficult but as you say some of the other earlier games are ones were we will need to pick up points! The first aim of a season is to get to forty points then see how many games you have left to mount a promotion challenge!

Yes the first 8 league matches in August should give us an indication of where we are.
Last season after 8 matches we were 14th with 9 points (3 wins, 5 defeats)
I suspect that we will draw more matches this season.
