Re: Club Statement

I suppose this decision was inevitable considering the run of results. However I certainly got the vibe that after last nights game, fans were feeling more positive. Tris and Aaron are lovely people who deserved more luck but as they say successful managers are not always the nice guys! I hope the club make the right decision when appointing the next team to take on the NMG hot seat!

Re: Club Statement

I Called for Tris and Largey to be given more Time.
The Decision has been made to Part ways.
Disappointing Outcome Considering where they Started from in the Summer.
They have been Judged on Results.
Iam Interested to see which Direction the Club go in when Appointing a New Manager.
It's Obvious the Chairman doesn't want the Club to be Relegated Hence why he made the Call.

Re: Club Statement

The management were in the worse position ever as building a new team from scratch ,plus  in our league what that we are in which is a very league .  If and its a big if , if they had at least half a team to start with then adding some others i am sure it would be a lot better.  I am sure some club will snap them up , maybe a league lower club then will see the real Tris and co excel..... I wish them all the best ...

Re: Club Statement

.
I don’t think I can ever remember such an outpouring of sympathy for a sacked manager. Everyone now recognises that when all of the previous players left, Tris and Aaron were left with an almost impossible task. The situation they inherited was unprecedented. Why did all of the players desert a club that had treated them well?  Tris and Aaron had to build a new Step 3 team from scratch with very little time to do it in?  Everyone recognises that they did their best but the task was too great.

Ilkeston Town have parted company with head coach Tris Whitman after a poor start to the season.

Former Hucknall Town boss Whitman took charge of the Robins over the summer, bringing with him a backroom team which included assistant Aaron Large, who has also left his role. Ilkeston are currently 20th in the NPL Premier Division table, after a run of nine defeats in their last 10 in all competitions. They had started the season strongly by winning their first two games, but a winless run approaching two months has forced the club to act by relieving Whitman of his duties. His final game in charge was a 1-0 home defeat to Warrington Rylands on Tuesday night.
"Tris and Aaron have conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism and dedication throughout their time at the Microlise New Manor Ground," a club statement read. "This is not a decision the club has taken lightly. However, recent results and performances have fallen below expectations. "With a significant portion of the season still ahead of us, the club believes a change is necessary to provide the squad with fresh direction and renewed momentum. "Everybody connected with Ilkeston Town wishes Tris and Aaron every success in their future footballing endeavours."
Ilkeston return to action on Saturday with a trip to Lancaster City. For that game, the Robins have confirmed that first-team affairs will be dealt with by club officials and senior players. Their next home game is against Guiseley on Tuesday 6 October.
“This has genuinely been one of the most difficult decisions of my football career," chairman Andrew Nally said. "Both Tris and Largey are exceptional people who have worked tirelessly for this football club. “I want to personally thank them for all their hard work and dedication, and I sincerely wish them every success in the future.”
