Playoffs

Workington emulated Ilkeston's performance last year in the playoffs. After only just getting into the playoffs on the final Saturday as Ilkeston did last year, they then beat the favourites who had finished second.  Blyth Spartans only just missed out on automatic promotion but are condemned to another season in the Northern Premier after losing to a goal in the 90th minute. They were always behind against Workington but pulled it back to 3-3 five minutes from time. The other semi final went to extra time and Salford ran out 3-1 winners against perennial playoff losers Ashton United. Salford now host Workington in the final.

Re: Playoffs

Salford came from behind to win the playoff final against unlucky Workington. Jordan Hulme scored the winner in the 87th minute. So Darlington and Salford are promoted. Workington remain in the NPL.
In the First Division North playoff final Spennymoor Town beat Northwich Victoria 2-0 and in the First Division South final, Coalville Town beat Shaw Lane Aquaforce 3-1.  So the new teams to face Ilkeston next year in the NPL are Warrington Town (First Division North Champions) and Spennymoor Town, together with Stafford Rangers (First Division South Champions) and Coalville Town. They replace relegated Ramsbottom, Colwyn Bay, Hyde and Stamford.
