Re: Worcester City v Ilkeston Town (Sat 20th Oct) - Live Updates

It's almost kick off time. The teams are out and we're about to start. There's quite a slope from goal to goal and Ilkeston are kicking uphill first half.   We're off   ....

Jordan Wheatley injured and leaves the field.  Replaced by Rico.  Rico shot is deflected over the bar for corner.   Trouble near dugouts  involving McIntyre. Keeper saves Reeves effort. It's fast and furious. Another City corner. Corner lands on the net. Great skill by Rico and he's brought down resulting in Caines being booked. Amazing save by Jezeph from Dixon. So close to an equaliser.  City players are trying to get Tom Marshall sent off.  Only a yellow.   English long shot has to be turned over by Mitchell.  It's half time and a very lively half.       0-1

City deserve their lead but Ilkeston now have the slope in the second half. It's been a fiesty affair with four bookings so far. Worcester's partisan fans are right behind their team appealing for everything. Pity Dixons effort just before half time was brilliantly saved. It was a wonderful move between him and Rico Fyfe.

Right now I think we would take a draw.

Reeves possibly  pushed in area but no pen following great play by Rico. Better from Ilkeston. Plenty of theatrics from City players. Ilkeston doing better despite being a player short.

Re: Worcester City v Ilkeston Town (Sat 20th Oct) - Live Updates

Hugely flattering scorline for City but they did deserve to win. Matt Baker was really upset after the match at his red card.  It was really harsh.  In my opinion Ilkeston deserved credit for trying to retrieve the game in the second half despite being a player down. Pushing forward meant they ran the risk conceding again and that's what happened. Going forward Ilkeston had no luck whatsoever and they were so close to scoring on several occasions. It just wouldn't go in. Great debut by Rico Fyfe who looked class.
