Whist Ilkeston have an enviable home record in the league Payed 10 , Won 9 and Lost 1 our away record is not so good. Eight other teams in the MFL Premier Division have better away records than us.

Sporting Khalsa, Westfields, Walsall Wood, Worcester, Shepshed, Coventry Sphinx, AFC Wulfrunians and Lye Town have all won more away matches than they have lost.

Tuesday evenings reverse made it back to back away defeats (Highgate and Belper United ) so we really have to win Saturday's trip to Romulus and return to winning ways.

Re: Away Record

The away record improved yesterday after the excellent win at Castle Vale Stadium. How come Romulus are only in 15th place?. Their Chairman said that they've ben playing well at home  but poorly away. They played much better than 15th suggests. With a bit of luck they could have got a point. They had more shots at goal than we did and we have Liam Mitchell to thank on several occasions for keeping them out. Credit also to Romulus for no theatrics, they just got on with the game without complaining.
Romulus were relegated from the Evostik League last season and lost all of their players forcing them to start from scratch this season. They also moved to the Castle Vale Stadium at the start of this season.  Nice ground and friendly Club officials.

Re: Away Record

The next away match is the long trip to Hereford to play Westfields on 8th December. We beat them quite comfortably at the NMG but I imagine they will be a different proposition on their own ground. They are currently second in the table and must have high hopes of continuing their promotion challenge. If you're thinking that it's a long way to drive, why not go on the Supporters Group bus. Ask in the clubhouse at any home match.
