Mitchell races out to clear after Mikes break.   Corner to Mikes.  Its a goal kick
It's finished   1-1

Late equaliser was the least Ilkeston deserved !

Re: Boldmere St Michaels v Ilkeston Town : Live Updates

Sat 12th January 2019  -  Midland Football League  Premier Division
Boldmere St Michaels  1  Ilkeston Town  1
Latest signing Deon Meikle rescued a point for Ilkeston with a 90th minute equaliser but it was the least the Robins deserved after a stirring second half performance. Boldmere captain Harry Craven gave the home side the lead in a closely contested first half, but despite Ilkeston dominating the second half, the hosts very nearly held out. Ilkeston started on the front foot and could have gone ahead on 10 minutes when Alex Marshall headed wide from Tom Marshall’s cross. At the other end wide man Steve Simpson was causing Ilkeston problems but it was against the run of play when Craven put the Mikes ahead when he fired in through a crowded goalmouth. The goal lifted Boldmere and there was then a good chance for Cameron Gayle but his firm header brought a fine save from Liam Mitchell. Alex Marshall found the net for Ilkeston after being put though by Elliott Reeves but was flagged offside. Mitchell produced another outstanding save to keep it at 0-1 and then on 40 minutes excellent play by Jermain Hollis provided an opportunity for Reeves. Ilkeston’s top scorer looked certain to equalise as he closed in on goal but his shot went the wrong side of the post. Reeves had another chance 5 minutes into the second half after good work by Fabian Smith but again his shot was wide. As Ilkeston pushed forward inevitably Boldmere were having chances on the break and Mitchell had to save a decent effort from Rico Taylor. On 70 minutes Lewis Fenney saved brilliantly reaching a ball heading for the top corner.  An Ilkeston shot hit a Mikes defender on the line and Rikardo Reid went close for Boldmere. There was then a big chance for Hollis but his shot was just too high. Simpson fired over for Boldmere with a pile drive as the hosts tried to turn the tide. Mitchell again saved well and a Mikes header was just wide following a corner but Ilkeston’s persistence finally brought the equaliser. Meikle got on the end of Reece Fyfe’s cross and his header found the far corner of the net to the delight of the travelling fans. In added time Ilkeston had a strong penalty appeal rejected and Boldmere went close with a header from a corner as both sides tried to find a  winner.
