Lye first to attack through Billingham but ilkeston defend it. Meikle puts White away but Lavell's cross goes behind. No chances in first 5 minutes.

Great chance for Hill with just Mitchell to beat but he fires over with Ilkeston appealing for offside. Another big chance for Lye - another good save by Mitchell from Hill. Lye are pressing 0-0 24 minutes

There's an excellent report of the match and supporters' day at Lye Town on the Ilkeston FC Supporters Forum by theoldwhistler. Better than anything I could do and totally unbiased.

The Lye officials were concerned that they may be sucked into a relegation battle after losing their star player and some poor recent results. They were really up for the Ilkeston game and an official told me after the game; that was their best performance of the season.

Jack Till was sold to Halesowen Town for an undisclosed fee

I'm guessing that Lye Town FC are run by a team of dedicated volunteers so a big thank you to the officials for their friendly welcome to our media team and excellent hospitality.
