I am being confident! So I fully expect this game to go ahead! ManagerPaul Holland seemed confident as he ran the rule over Whitby at Eastwood!

Looking forward to Whitby away this Tuesday evening . Assuming the NPL have lifted their suspension, there will be Matchman updates as usual.

If we play Whitby on Tuesday we will be playing a side who very nearly had the perfect start to their season. 1-0 with seconds to go and looking to be coasting when Sutton Coldfield player O'Callaghan unleashed a stunning strike from 25 yards out to secure a point for "home" side. Whitby will feel they dropped two points as they had taken an early lead with attacking wing back play from the right a predominant feature of their play. Sutton adopted a very physical approach and it seemed to be paying off as they dominated the play just before the break. In the second half Sutton appeared to run out of ideas and their keeper Wren made a couple of excellent saves to keep them in the game. In the end Whitby paid the price for those missed chances and left Eastwood with only a point.
Whitby are a team who like Ilkeston like to play football. Their right back provided nearly all the attacking threat in the first half and Snaith ran the midfield. They are vulnerable at the back and if Ilkeston win the midfield battle they should get something from the game. Fingers crossed that it's on!
