We're back. Ilkeston begin their pre-season campaign tonight at Eastwood. It will be interesting to see what sort of team Ilkeston turn out.
It's only a pre-season friendly but if you can't get to the game and you're watching the England v USA Women's World Cup match on television instead, you can still follow Eastwood v Ilkeston here on Whiteball.
Kick off is 7 30pm. Team news as soon as it's available.

Have we just got 12 players in our squad ????

There's sure to be a few trialists making up the numbers. Although we may not be able to attract players by paying high wages there are still decent players out there who would love to play for Ilkeston because of our excellent ground and exceptional support.
We may lurch from crisis to crisis but the passion and support are always there.

A decent performance from the Robins tonight despite Eastwood not looking a very motivated team. Jamie Walker and Reco Fyfe looked a class apart and Alex Marshall looked spritely and enthusiastic. Of the new boys Mitch Robinson stood out with a very reassured performance at the back and Reice Bertram had a very good game. The unnamed trialists came on for the second half and no 15 stood out as a cut above the rest and we were informed that it was Messiah MacDonald who has done pre seasons with us before and impressed but for some reason never signed on. The other trialists looked ok but probably need to work on their fitness before we see what they can do.

Has Deon signed for us?

I heard that Deon Meikle had got himself a new job that entailed working shifts. Because of that, he couldn't commit to playing and training every week.

Apologies to Riece Bertram for getting his name wrong. (he was down on the team sheet provided as Riece Bertam).
Riece previously played at Carlton Town. This was the first time I had seen him and I was impressed enough to think that he would be a good signing.
