Tonight's matches - Tues 1st March 2016 with my predictions

Darlington v Salford        -       home win
Matlock v Stourbridge     -       draw
Mickleover v Blyth           -       away win
Skelmersdale v Marine    -      home win
Whitby v Ashton               -      away win
Ramsbottom v Colwyn Bay  -  Postponed

There are some interesting games tonight as we approach the important end of the season. The bottom of the table clash between Ramsbottom and Colwyn Bay is off due to a waterlogged pitch. Marine are involved in another battle to avoid the drop and will hope for any kind of result at Skelmersdale. Mickleover are also in the drop zone but I'd be surprised if they get anything from their home game with league leaders Blyth. Stourbridge are in the final playoff place and they will be desperate to hold their position when they travel to Matlock. Fellow playoff contenders Darlington and Salford meet at Darlington  while in the other game Whitby face Ashton.  Ashton still hold hopes of getting into the playoffs but Whitby need points to pull away from the relegation area.

Re: Tonight's matches - Tues 1st March 2016 with my predictions

Tonight's results are now in :
Darlington 3 Salford  2
Matlock v Stourbridge - Postponed
Mickleover 0 Blyth 2
Ramsbottom v Colwyn Bay - Postponed
Skelmersdale 2 Marine  3
Whitby 0  Ashton 2

There were late goals in three of the games. The promotion clash between Darlington and Salford lived up to expectations in front of a 1587 crowd. Josh Hine put Salford 2-1 ahead in the 83rd minute only for Leon Scott to equalise two minutes later. Then in then 90th minute Liam Hardy scored the winner for Darlington to move them up to second place in the table above Workington. It is now possible for Salford to be pushed out of the playoff places by Stourbridge and Ashton who have games in hand.
Leaders Blyth Spartans predictably won 2-0 at Mickleover but had to wait until added time for their second goal . It was a similar story at Whitby where Ashton won 2-0 and also scored a late second goal. The defeats for Mickleover and Whitby leave them both in the drop zone both on 29 points.  Marine's 3-2 win at Skelmersdale eases their relegation worries and moves them 5 point clear of the trapdoor on 34 points.

In the Integro Doodson League Cup 3rd round, Nantwich reached the quarter finals beating Bamber Bridge 5-1. Ilkeston's quarter final opponents Kidsgrove Athletic lost 2-0 at Gresley in the Evo Stik First Division South.
