Leek are top of the table and have won all seven of their matches so far, ie 5 league and 2 FA cup matches.
Aug 17 Wisbech 0 Leek 2
Aug 20 Leek 2 Kidsgrove 1 (Gate 418)
Aug 24 Wulfrunians 0 Leek 1 (FA Cup)
Aug 26 Sheffield 2 Leek 3
Aug 31 Leek 2 Sutton Coldfield 0 (Gate 340)
Sep 3 Market Drayton 2 Leek 3
Sep 7 Whitchurch 0 Leek 2 (FA Cup)
Wisbech are 18th, Kidsgrove are 16th, Sheffield are 10th, Sutton Coldfield are 19th and Market Drayton are 17th
All of Leek's wins have been by just one goal or two goals and against "not the best" teams. Their best result was probably the win at Sheffield. I think we can get a result and end their 100% start.

It's going to be a very interesting game. I just hope we don't get a homer of a ref like we did at Stamford

This is going to be massive test for us at Leek. What a great start by them so far. I know it's still early but we just can't afford to loose this game . Should be a great night ....I hope .

All winning runs come to an end sometime and I believe Leek's winning run will end on Tuesday. Our supporters will be outnumbered but not outshouted and will help us to cement our third position.
Match of the Day : Leek Town (1st) v Ilkeston Town (3rd)
Another big match Tuesday night is; Stamford (2nd) v Carlton (4th) both with 12 points, the same as Ilkeston.
Also interesting : Spalding United (8th) v Cleethorpes Town (5th)
Other matches : Glossop North End v Loughborough Dynamo
Market Drayton Town v Kidsgrove Athletic
Newcastle Town v Chasetown
Sheffield FC v Frickley Athletic
Wisbech Town v Lincoln United

Timothy Grice of Leek Town is the League's leading scorer excluding penalties with six goals.
Luke Mangham of Stocksbridge has scored 8 goals but 4 of them have come from penalties.
Leek have only played at home twice so far and their home gates were 340 and 418.
It looks like Ilkeston could be taking around 100 supporters. There is a 78 seater coach organised by Zane and we usually have around 30-40 supporters making their own way. So it could quite easily be a 500 gate tomorrow night, making it a brilliant atmosphere and a night to remember.

We're all set for the big game after an eventful double decker bus ride here. 60 ilkeston fans were on the supporters bus and there will be others travelling independently so we have a good following. The pitch looks excellent. It's almost kickoff time.
The teams are out. Leek are in all blue, Ilkeston are in all red. We're off ......

It's been a very close game. Leek are a good side but Robertson and Freeman have been outstanding for Ilkeston at the back. We will do very well if we manage to keep them out in the second half. The Leek officials have been very complimentary about Ilkeston saying we are the best side they've played against so far. The first half was very fast and end to end.
The teams are now out for the second half and we're off ....

Leek Town 2 Ilkeston Town 1
Despite leading for most of the game Ilkeston finally succumbed to two late goals and ended the game with only nine players as Leek extended their 100% start. The first red card on 77 minutes was given to goalkeeper Richard Stainsby after he was adjudged to have fouled a Leek forward when trying to clear. With no substitute keeper on the bench Tom Marshall had to pull on the jersey. The dismissal proved to be pivotal as prior to that Ilkeston had dealt with everything Leek had thrown at them with Chris Robertson and Dean Freeman both outstanding. Ilkeston’s second dismissal was in added time when Alex Marshall saw red for a dangerous challenge. Ilkeston got off to a wonderful start when Rod Orlando-Young outpaced a defender and fired past the onrushing Leek keeper. Ilkeston were superb in the opening quarter but gradually Leek worked their way back into the game. On 14 minutes Reco Fyfe made an excellent run and created a chance for Orlando-Young whose shot was just over the bar and on 25 minutes Freeman’s header was also just too high. Leek’s best efforts were a header by Tim Grice and a Robert Stevenson shot into the side netting. Leek started the second half strongly and Darren Chadwick headed over from a corner. For Ilkeston, a Shaun Harrad header went narrowly wide. On 70 minutes Stevenson spurned a decent opportunity to level as Leek started to get on top. Seven minutes later came the penalty incident and influential Leek captain, Chadwick gave Tom Marshall no chance from the spot. Decisions seemed to be going Leek’s way and from a free kick they went ahead on 83 minutes with Chadwick again the scorer. Alex Marshall almost rescued a point for Ilkeston with a powerful header which Danny Roberts turned over.
