Ashby Ivanhoe are describing this match as the biggest in their 68 year history. They normally get gates of around 100, so let's make it a great occasion for them by taking loads of fans. Its only 20 miles away and takes only half an hour to get there. The game is at the NFU Sports Ground, Lower Packington Road, Ashby de la Zouch, LE65 1 TS. Admission is only £5 and £3 concessions. It would be nice to give them a record attendance for this FA Cup 1st qualifying round, match. Hopefully many Ilkeston fans will make the journey and have a memorable day. From our point of view, this should be the game to kick start our season and enable us to score our first goals after two blanks in the league.

It's a confident start by Ivanhoe. Atkinson break is Ilkeston's first attack but comes to nothing. Free kick to Ilkeston on edge area - just too high by Shelton.Great cross by Rose which Goddard can't quite reach. 10 minutes gone

Scoreline is harsh on Ivanhoe. It could easily have been 1-1 before Atkinson's goal. Ilkeston now getting on top as half time approaches. Half time 2-0.

Second half underway It's 3-0 on 47 minutes. Shot by Shelton takes a deflection and goes in.

Breakaway chance for Sewell to reduce arrears but Foster does enough to stop him getting a decent shot in. Nearly 4 as Atkinson shot hits post and Coleman can't quite follow up. Hour gone.

Good save from Atkinson by Ivanhoe keeper. Tremendous save by Durrant at other end. 70 minutes gone

Goal number four. A fine pssing move finished off by Luis Rose on 72 minutes. Dexter Atkinson is replaced by Ben Morris and Morris finds the net straight away on 73 minutes. With Ilkeston 5-0 up Owen comes on for Rose for his debut.

Gate announced 693 (record). Ivanhoe are still giving it a go but Ilkeston look more likely to score. Coleman gets in on goal but offside. Goal again Shelton makes it six in last minute.

A fine all round performance from Ilkeston but must agree that Shelton was the star man. Ashby put on a good show and as a result got an excellent crowd. Apparently they ran out of beer second half! A strong contribution from the Ilkeston travelling support. A good day all round!

IIkeston had a bit of luck in the first half when Ivanhoe gave a good account of themselves. The game had been pretty even when Dwyer put Ilkeston ahead. Ivanhoe came very close to equalising but within a minute they found themselves two down when Atkinson scored at the other end. Ivanhoe must have thought they could get back in the game in the second half but a third Ilkeston goal two minutes in ended their hopes. They never gave up but Ilkeston's defence gave nothing away. Durrant pulled off one particularly good save to keep them out. The longer the game went on the more Ilkeston dominated. With the game won Paul Holland brought on Connor Walters, Reid Owen and Ben Morris and they all did well. Luke Foster was lucky to escape a yellow when he retaliated after being kicked. Fortunately neither the referee or linesman saw it. The goal scored by Luis Rose followed the best move of the game and drew applause right round the ground. It may not have been a perfect Ilkeston performance but they kept a clean sheet, scored six goals and go through to the next round.
