Past Games against New Mills

Ilkeston Town entertain New Mills tonight at 8pm in the Derbyshire Senior Cup. 
 
The first time we played New Mills was on 5thDecember 1956. The Robins won 3-0 with goals from Faulconbridge 2 and Blount. The team was Knibbs, Baker, Darwin, Commander, Smith, Hackland, Ledger, Faulconbridge, Marsh, Johnson and Blount.
 
Ilkeston Town then played New Mills next in the Derbyshire Senior Cup quarter finals in March1963. The Robins were held to a 1-1 draw at the Manor Ground with a goal from Swinscoe. The replay was played a week later and the Robins won 3-0 with goals from Dunne, Heath and Langford. In the first tie the Ilkeston line up was Mitchell, Thornhill, Chamerlain, Rawson, Swinscoe, Watson, Daley, Taylor, Dunne, Clarke and Langford in the return tie Haeth, Graver and Ward came in replacing Daley, Taylor and Clarke.
 
Ilkeston Town next played New Mills in the Derbyshire Senior Cup in 1967 and were beaten in a replay 3-1 after a 2-2  at the Manor Ground. In the first tie Ilkeston goals came from Brown and Orridge and in the second leg Orridge the Robons consolation goal. The Ilkeston line up was Barker, Dean, Harrison, McEvoy, Swinscoe, Wyld, Dove, Brown, Froggatt, Fawell and Orridge. Wright, McAndrew and Everson came in for McEvoy, Fawell and Dean in the replay.
 
Finally Ilkeston beat New Mills 2-1 in the Derbyshire Senior Cup in 1974 with goals from Billington and Stubbs. The Ilkeston line up was Foulkes, Smith, Atkinson, Ball, Rawson, Flynn, Ratcliffe, Stubbs, Hill and Billington.
