Good turn and shot by Walker goes wide. Still    nothing to trouble Shenton .Robertson involved in a confrontation  Yellow card is flashed. Not sure who to.   Miserable first half for Ilkeston comes to an end.

It's grim watching for the Ilkeston fans. Nothing up front. Orland brought down on edge of area.. Walker fires shot across the face of goal. Nobody to touch it in.   Another Orlando cross but keeper collects. Orlando doing well.  Another Buxton shot crashes against the woodwork.    0-3     75 minutes

Re: Buxton v Ilkeston (League Cup) Tue 12 Nov'19 Live Updates

This was a very disappointing performance by Ilkeston. Buxton's keeper never had a shot to save. Ilkeston did have some decent spells of possession but had no cutting edge. Only when Orlando-Young came on in the second half, did Ilkeston begin to look as if they might create something. First half was especially poor. Buxton hit the woodwork at least four times during the match so the defeat could easily have been far greater. Kieron Fenton had a decent game as did Will Davis when he came on. Reco looked the best player on the pitch but he can't win games on his own. It will be interesting to see Mark Clifford's reaction to such a disappointing team performance. We just didn't seem up for it. I spoke to a few of the fans after the game and they were not happy. The players need to produce a massively better performance on Saturday to erase the memory of this match.

Re: Buxton v Ilkeston (League Cup) Tue 12 Nov'19 Live Updates

Buxton  3   Ilkeston Town  0
Ilkeston’s last hope of a cup run disappeared into the cold night air at Buxton where the Bucks dominated most of the game and ran out comfortable winners. The hosts got off to a dream start with a goal in the 4th minute by Aaron Chalmers. Ilkeston keeper Richard Stainsby pushed out a header from a left wing cross but it fell to Chalmers who was able to hammer the ball home. As the match approached the half hour mark Ilkeston had two lucky escapes. Chalmers was unlucky to see his effort come back off the post and this was quickly followed by another shot which hit the underside of the crossbar and stayed out. Buxton didn’t have to wait long for a second goal however, which came on 33 minutes when Liam Hardy took advantage of some poor defending. The closest Ilkeston came was after a good run by Jamie Walker which created a half chance for Jermain Hollis whose shot was blocked by a defender. It only took Buxton five minutes into the second half to get a third goal which was created by Mark Howarth and scored by Diego De Girolamo. On 62 minutes a Howarth shot shook Stainsby’s bar and went over. Howarth was unlucky again five minutes later, this time denied by a smart Stainsby save. At the other end a Walker cross was missed by everyone when it just needed a touch to pull a goal back. Ilkeston’s goal frame continued it’s charmed life when another shot crashed against the woodwork fifteen minutes from time. In the closing stages Ilkeston had probably their best spell. Mason Lee almost managed to break through the Buxton defence but was robbed as he was about to strike. The same player had Ilkeston’s final chance when fed by Will Davis but the Buxton keeper raced out to clear the danger.

Nothing about the Buxton centre forward kicking out at the Ilkeston defender right in front of the Ref and him not having the bollocks to Red Card him and just booked instead??....….thought not, other way round and our lad would've been heading down the tunnel.

Unfortunately, I didn't see the incident myself, I only saw the yellow card being shown. There was such a commotion as the players left the field at half time. The Ilkeston bench were furious.
