Internet willing we should have updates on today's game at Warrington. Ilkeston FC have never played Warrington in a league game but Ilkeston Town did in 2007-08. Warrington have played four of their first six games at home and have lost two and won two of those matches. The Wires did beat Matlock 5-3 but lost to Grantham 0-1. They are currently fourteenth in the table. This is a special game for me as I lived in Warrington in the mid eighties and have fond memories of the Persil factory at Bank Quay station!

The first twenty minutes were fairly even and Rose had a great chance to put ilkeston ahead. Warrington took their chances and In the spell before half time it was only Durrant who prevented Warrington getting a hat full! In the second half Ilkeston were a different team and pegged the home side back. Dwyer got an excellent goal back and it looked Ilkeston could actually get a point from the game. These hopes were dashed when Warringtpn broke away and scored s fourth with their first attempt on goal of the the half. The second half showed promise but they were hampered by a very dodgy 25 minutes in the first half when Warrington totally dominated! Mark Shelton was impressive in midfield and Jaylon Blther looked class when he came on at half time but my Man of the Match was Ross Durrant for the three or four excellent saves he made when Ilkeston were under the cosh in the first half!
Ilkeston will need to be more consistent when they face high flying Whitby on Tuesday and with Brown and now Foster being doubtful through injury they will face a tough task!
