The points per game table probably gives a fairer reflection of where we stand than the normal table does.
Belper are way out in front.
Leek, Carlton, Stamford and Cleethorpes are in the play off positions
Ilkeston are in seventh position and will need to improve their points per game tally if they are to challenge for a playoff position.

Last season Morpeth won our league with 88 points and this year Belper are on course for a similar points total .
Last season 67 points got Ossett United into the last playoff position and that must be a minimum target for us if we want to be in the playoffs.
At the moment we have 26 points from 16 games. If we continued at our current points earned from each game we would end the season with 61 points, almost certainly not enough to take us into the playoffs. To secure a playoff position we should be aiming to get 70 points in total by the end of the season and that means getting 44 points from the remaining 22 games, ie an average of 4 points from every two games. At the moment this looks a very tall order. We would need to put together a prolonged unbeaten run and we can’t afford too many defeats.
Can we do it? It’s going to be interesting.
