Loughborough Dynamo v Ilkeston : Sat 14 March : Live updates

We can expect a tough game as Dynamo will be keen to avenge their 0-5 defeat at the NMG. The match will be at the ground where we lost against Loughborough University in the FA Cup at the start of the season so not good memories of the last time we played there.

Dynamo are six games unbeaten (3 wins against Frickley, Newcastle and Carlton and 3 draws against Stocksbridge, Glossop and Wisbech.)

Loughborough Dynamo have the 4th best home record in the league : P 15, W 8, D4, L 3, GF 28, GA 16, Points 28.
And the worst away record ;  Played 13 won 2 drawn 2 and lost 9.

It's almost kick off time and it looks like a decent crowd. Ilkeston have made one change, Alex Render in for James Cullingworth. The teams are ready to come out. Ilkeston in all red. Dynamo in yellow and black.

Free kick Dynamo in good position Gordon's shot hits the wall.  Fyfe breaks forward and feeds Wells whose shot brings a great save from Alexander. By far IIkeston's best move so far.      34 minutes      0-1

Re: Loughborough Dynamo v Ilkeston : Sat 14 March : Live updates

Dynamo defenders are very solid and not looking like conceding a goal. Ilkeston need to do much better in the second half.   Ilkeston free kick 30 yards out.  Over it comes and the ref blows for half  time.

Half time   LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO  1   ILKESTON  0

It's a fair scoreline.

Wells header wide.   Apologies, I've Just spotted Bennett has been replaced by Clark.   Great tackle by Maguire. Oke-William shot deflected for a corner which Clark clears.   At the other end Maguire effort hits the post .  Corner for Dynamo comes to nothing.         0 -1   65 minutes

Re: Loughborough Dynamo v Ilkeston : Sat 14 March : Live updates

That took me by surprise and it's given Ilkeston a lift.  Lambert tripped on edge of area.  Dynamo form a 5 man wall.  Fenton's free kick hits the wall and comes to Reco who's volley is brilliantly saved.  Lambert latches onto the rebound and smashes it just wide, Ilkeston so close to another goal.   Kevin de Silva Bastos on for Dynamo.
Fenton does well to concede a corner at the other end.       1-1      80 minutes

Re: Loughborough Dynamo v Ilkeston : Sat 14 March : Live updates

Yesterday was not a good day for the Club, a disappointing defeat and an allegation of misdemeanours against some of our supporters. As acting Club Secretary, I was summoned to the officials room on two occasions to be told of unacceptable abuse of the Loughborough Dynamo goalkeeper by supporters behind his goal in the first half and again in the second half. The referee said he would have to report the two incidents to the league. This will probably result in the Club being fined.

Loughborough Dynamo match report :

LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO  3  ILKESTON TOWN  1

Another fantastic home win for Dymamo

A two-goal blitz in the final ten minutes saw Loughborough Dynamo stretch the unbeaten run to seven against Ilkeston Town. Kevin Da Silva Bastos made the difference off the bench complemented by an inspired performance from Manuchim Oke-William to close the game. The victory is Dynamo’s ninth at the ADT Stadium which gives them the third-best home record in the league, with strong home performances being the key to this unbeaten run. The Moes started the game the livelier team, with Karl Demidh testing Ilkeston goalkeeper Ross Durrant early on with a curling effort which seemed destined to hit the back of the net. Not long after that opportunity, Alex Steadman opened the scoring for the hosts, with Max Bardsley-Rowe cushioning Demidh’s cross into the goalscorer’s path as he showed his composure to round the ‘keeper and slot the ball into the net. It wasn’t till just after the 30-minute mark that the visitors were able to test Jason Alexander in goal as danger-man Kieran Wells forced a good save off the Dynamo ‘keeper, as Alexander got a strong right hand to the forward’s shot. The Moes went into the break deserving of the one-goal lead they had thanks to a superb team effort where Lee Attenborough’s side simply out-worked Ilkeston. The circumstances of the game were quick to change in the second period however, with Fernando Bell-Toxtle equalising for The Robins with a well-taken goal. His strike nestled into the top-right of Alexander’s net to level the game up. Loughborough responded spectacularly to the setback, however, especially after the late introduction of new signing, Bastos who terrorised the Ilkeston back-line with his skilful dribbling. It was that dribbling that set up Dynamo's second as Bastos beat his man and whipped in a low, driven cross into Oke-William who scored his first Loughborough goal since his return to put them back in front. Oke-William was straight back into the action as he used his awareness to intercept a pass at the back and ran through on goal to set up Demidh for his sixth Dynamo goal this season, which rounded off another brilliant performance in front of The Moes’ home support. The win means Attenborough’s side have won 31 of their 39 points at the ADT Stadium and lifts them to 11th place in the league table as they continue this brilliant run of form.It was a perfect response to the 5-0 defeat suffered to Ilkeston back in November which is an indication of the progression of the team since the turn of the year.
Loughborough Dynamo: Jason Alexander, Josh Riley, Danny Gordon, Luke Thorogood, Carl Sibson, Max Bardsley-Rowe (Kevin Da Silva Bastos 78’), Rob Norris (C), Charlie Young, Alex Steadman, Karl Demidh, Manuchim Oke-William
Unused Subs: Will Norcross, Billy Blackshaw, Brad Munn, Lee Attenborough

Re: Loughborough Dynamo v Ilkeston : Sat 14 March : Live updates

My match report :Sat 14th March 2020

Northern Premier League, South East Division
Loughborough Dynamo  3  Ilkeston Town  1
Ilkeston’s three game winning run was ended by two late goals after Fernando Bell-Toxtle had cancelled out Loughborough’s first half lead. The first period belonged to the hosts but a better second half performance by Ilkeston promised to provide at least a point but the introduction of ex Ilkeston player Kevin De Silva Bastos turned the game in Dynamo’s favour. Loughborough started strongly and Ross Durrant had to save well from Karl Demidh. Ilkeston were under the cosh and on 11 minutes Alex Steadman opened the scoring for Dynamo. It took Ilkeston 30 minutes to create their first proper chance. Dynamo keeper Jason Alexander did really well to keep out a decent Kieran Wells effort with a diving save after good work by Reco Fyfe. Ilkeston had been guilty of failing to have a go and Loughborough were well worth their 1-0 interval lead.
Ilkeston started the second half with much more determination. A Wells header was wide and a Joe Maguire shot hit the post before Fernando Bell-Toxtle’s superb equaliser. His shot on 72 minutes was right into the top left hand corner of the net giving Alexander no chance of saving. At this point Ilkeston had the edge and came very close to taking the lead. Kole Lambert was tripped near the edge of the penalty area. Kieran Fenton’s free kick hit the wall and came to Fyfe who’s powerful volley was brilliantly saved by Alexander. Lambert latched onto the rebound and smashed it just wide. But fortunes were about to change following Bastos’s introduction on 78 minutes. It was the tricky winger who created Dynamo’s second goal by skilfully providing the cross from which Manuchim Oke-William scored on 84 minutes. Then before Ilkeston had time to recover, Loughborough scored again. Oke-William was this time the provider after he intercepted a pass and made ground before feeding Demidh who slotted in the killer goal.
