Worksop Move For Pontefract Management Team

By James Gordon

Worksop Town have appointed Pontefract Collieries manager Craig Parry as their new boss. He takes over from Kyle Jordan, who has left the Tigers after turning down an offer to stay at the club in another role. Parry brings his own management team over from Pontefract, with Craig Rouse as assistant, Luke Jeffs as head coach, Mark Whitehouse as first team coach and John Hood as goalkeeping coach. A club spokesperson said: “Pete Whitehead has long been an admirer of Craig Parry’s management style and the achievements it has brought and looks to the current performance of Pontefract Collieries with whom we are grateful for their cooperation in this move. “We trust that fans will welcome the new management team and support them in their endeavours to bring us exciting times and success for us all to enjoy. ”Worksop were 12th in the S/East Division when the season came to a premature end, with 12 wins and two draws from 32 games. Pontefract were in real contention for promotion the Premier Division from the N/West, having won 16 and drawn four from 25 games - which although placed them 19 points behind the leaders, they did have six games in hand when the season was suspended.
