DERBYSHIRE SENIOR CUP VOIDED  BY DAVID LAUGHLIN  1 DAY AGO

Belper Town's postponed Derbyshire Senior Cup Final against South Normanton Athletic will no longer be taking place.  In a letter from Frank McArdle, chairman of the Derbyshire County Football Association, the FA confirmed the decision to void all County Cup competitions.

His letter congratulated the club on reaching the final of the Senior Cup competition but went on to say, "Following the conclusion of the Grassroots football season 2019/20 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the County FA have been closely monitoring the situation regarding the County Cup Finals".

 "At a Board meeting on the 13th May 2020 the topic was discussed at great length and all possibilities have been considered from playing matches behind closed doors to future venue availability. "It has therefore been decided, that the County Cup Finals for the 2019/20 season will be cancelled and the competitions will be void. "We completely understand and appreciate that you will be disappointed that this is the action that we have taken, and I can assure you that this decision has not been taken lightly".
