Good attack by Deeping and Bartley saves close range shot.    Good passing by both sides.  Now its a Deeping corner and it's cleared.   GOAL   Dunkley smashes the ball home to give Ilkeston the lead on 18 minutes        1-0

Ilkeston free kick wide left. Deeping clear the danger. Wonderful through ball by Deeping's Brumfield but Ilkeston keeper races out and blocks the shot.          1-0       32 minutes

Great ball by Hall finds York and he scores    2-0       42 minutes
Then Deeping almost get one back, Good save by Bartley

The teams are back out and we're off again.

Tom York is almost through following determined run but keeper does well. Penalty to Ilkeston  Brown makes it 3-0 as his spot kick goes straight down the middle        3-0       55 minutes

Deeping make a few substitutions.   Free kick to Deeping near the corner flag.  It's gone in off the far post.        4-1       64 minutes

Brown shot ricochets off a defender for a corner. Ellis White shot is saved. Some good counter attacks by Deeping but they can't finish.           4-1      76 minutes

Deeping are really giving it a go now.  Ellis White curler goes just the wrong side of the post.    4-2      90 minutes are up.

Thursday 24th September 2020 :   FA Youth Cup 1st qualifying round
Deeping Rangers  U18s  2  Ilkeston Town  U18s  4
Following a 3-2 victory over Stamford in the preliminary round, Ilkeston’s Academy side eased past Deeping Rangers to progress further in the FA Youth Cup. Ilkeston controlled the early stages and it was no surprise when Calrick Dunkley fired them ahead on 18 minutes. Deeping’s best effort came after a through ball by Brumfield put Howarth through but Ilkeston keeper Tyrelle Bartley blocked the shot. There was good defending by Ilkeston as Deeping stepped up their game. Ilkeston’s forwards were always more threatening though and Kashe Hall had an effort which cleared the bar before he laid on the chance for Tom York to lash in a second goal on 42 minutes. Bartley denied Rangers a quick reply and half time arrived with Ilkeston deservedly two up. Despite having a fair amount of possession Deeping struggled to fashion scoring opportunities against Ilkeston’s resolute defence marshalled by Connor Lloyd. 
At the start of the second half Kaaron Brown twice brought saves from the home keeper before Edwin Anani rescued Ilkeston with a last ditch tackle. On 54 minutes Hall was fouled in the penalty area and the spot kick was converted by Brown. Six minutes later Hall, who was always causing problems for the home defence won another penalty and this time he took responsibility himself and made it 4-0. On 64 minutes Deeping finally found a way back into the game when a free kick into the congested box went in off the far post. Baker then missed an opportunity for Rangers and Brown fired over for Ilkeston. Deeping were producing some good counter attacks and In the final moments they scored a second to give the scoreline some respectability but Ilkeston’s victory was never really in doubt.
