Northern Premier League Review - Sunday16.10. 16

Most entertaining of the games on Saturday must have been Frickley's 4-4 draw with league leaders Buxton. Frickley lead 4-1 at half time but they had to play the whole of the second half one man short following a red card. They couldn't quite hold out and Buxton equalised in the 90th minute. There was one another last gasp goal to alter the destination of points. That was at Grantham where Halesowen nicked it by 3 goals to 2. The big game of the day saw Blyth sneak a 2-1 win at promotion rivals Hednesford. Rushall maintained their challenge with a 4-0 cruise at Sutton Coldfiield while Whitby kept third spot after beating Marine 3-1. Warrington parted company with their management team after losing at home to Workington 1-2. It was the seventh defeat but they have won 8 and are 6th in the table with 25 points! Expectations must be very high at Warrington. Seventh placed Ashton United shared the points in a goalless draw with Barwell. The other games saw Mickleover beat Corby 2-0, Stafford Rangers beat Coalville 2-1  and Ilkeston beat Skelmersdale 3-0.
