Re: Ilkeston Ladies v Thrapston Ladies

Thrapston have had plenty of possession but without creating too many chances. Ilkeston look dangerous every time Peters gets the ball.
Brilliant run by Peters The keeper does really well but the ball comes to Charlotte who crashes in Ilkeston’s 5th.  saturdays first team score has been replicated.

Result : ilkeston 5. Thrapston. 1

Re: Ilkeston Ladies v Thrapston Ladies

.

Match Report :

Sunday 11th October 2020
Ilkeston Town Ladies  5  Thrapston Town Ladies 1
Four second half goals without reply enabled Ilkeston Ladies to pick up all three points against a decent Thrapston team who played better than the scoreline may suggest.
In an even first half there were no goals until just before half time. Shannon Pike was close with an effort that was deflected wide and then both teams scored within a minute of each other. Hayley Brown put Ilkeston ahead on 42 minutes after winning a personal duel with the Thrapston keeper only for the visitors to go straight up the other end and equalise.
Ilkeston were off to a flyer after the break. Tyla Peters did the spade work down the right and her cross gave Hayley Brown an easy finish just two minutes into the second half.  Five minutes later and before Thrapston could recover, Georgina Williams fired a fierce shot high into the net. On 59 minutes Ilkeston were awarded a penalty when Hayley Brown was brought down. There was a delay as Thrapston’s captain disagreed with the decision and eventually was sent to the sin bin for questioning the referee’s judgement too forcefully. Up stepped Millie Huckle and she hammered home the spot kick to make it 4-1. After serving her time out, the Thrapston skipper returned to the field and she was unlucky when her volley struck the upright. Evidently, It was not her day. Thrapston were enjoying a fair amount of possession but not looking like scoring whereas Ilkeston looked much more dangerous when attacking. The outstanding Tyla Peters was Ilkeston’s main threat and she created the final goal on 89 minutes. After making ground down the right flank her shot was parried by the keeper but the loose ball fell to Charlotte Boyle who crashed in number five.
