Final Score Ilkeston 0 Rushall 2

We played much better than against Barwell but the result 0-2 was the same. This time the score was a little harsh as Rushall's second goal right at the end was the result of Durrant coming up for a corner . The ball was cleared and their player scored from the halfway line into the empty goal with Durrant not able to get back. Anton Brown returned after injury and was excellent particularly in the first half in which Ilkeston more than held their own. Indeed they deserved to have gone in ahead at half time. In the second half Rushall upped their game and took their chances. Luke Foster's influence was missed but Jaylon Bather was again our best player in my opinion.
Hopefully Luke Foster will be back for the Marine game and with Anton Brown returning to match fitness we have a chance to bounce back quickly. On the same night Marine won away at Ashton so that will give them some confidence.

Last nights loss will be disappointing one for Ilkeston FC. The Robins were the better side for at least an hour of the game. Unfortunately although they came close they could not convert their territorial advantage into goals. The inevitable happened and Rushall got a scrappy goal to take the lead. The second was again predictable as Ilkeston pushed hard for an equaliser with Durrant up for a corner Rushall cleverly capitalised with a well taken long range effort.
I felt that Lavelle Moore who had another excellent game lacked positional support and at times when Ilkeston had possession there was only Lavelle Moore in the box. I would like to have seen more Ilkeston players take a risk and get into dangerous positions nearer to goal. Perhaps this was the price to pay to having five in midfield. We did control the midfield but lacked punch upfront. We were more adventurous in the second half but Rushall sensed after an hour that they could get something more than a draw out of the game and pushed forward in numbers.
In the en d it was a game where the team played well but did not have the rub of the green when it came to scoring. Louis Rose was very unlucky not to score just after the break when Lavelle Moore put him clean through. In the next few games Paul Holland will again have to wrestle with the option of playing two up front and bringing in Anthony Dwyer to support Lavelle Moore.
