So we come to the end of season 2024-25. That completes ten seasons since John Shiels took a chance on giving me a free hand here on WhiteBall.

There's never a dull moment following Ilkeston Town. In my ten seasons on WhiteBall Ilkeston have been liquidated, reformed, relegated, promoted, played at 4 different levels and in 6 different Leagues

2015-16 Finished 14th in NPL Premier (Step 3)
2016 17 Finished 23rd in NPL Premier (Step 3) relegated and demoted to Step 6 following Liquidation
2017-18 Finished 2nd In Miidlands Football League Div 1 - Promoted to Midlands Football League Premier Div (Step 5)
2018-19 Finished 1st in MidlandsFootball League Premier Div - Promoted to NPL East Div (Step 4)
2019-20 9th in NPL East when Season abandoned due to COVID
2020-21 10th in NPL East when Season abandoned due to COVID - Moved to newly formed NPL Midland Div
2021-22. Finished 1st in NPL Mid Div (Step 4) promoted to Southern League Prem Central (Step 3)
2022-23 Finished 7th in Southern League Prem Central Moved to NPL Premier
2023-24 Finished 11th in NPL Premier
2024-25 Finished 6th in NPL Premier

Interesting reading John.

I think 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 are the wrong way round? We finished 2nd to Walsall Wood in 2017-2018 and finished 1st the following season with Walsall Wood 2nd.

Seasons 2024-25 and 2023-24 compared

2024-25 : P42, W18, D12, L12, F69, A56, Points 66 Finished 6th
2023-24 : P40, W18, D6, L16, F69, A62, Points 60. Finished 11th

The 2024-25 season definitely felt like a big improvement because we were always in with a chance of making the playoffs whereas the previous season we spent most of the season mid table or lower.
But if the Marske results were not taken away then the 2023-24 season points total would have been 66 points from 42 matches, exactly the same as 2024-25.
The feel good factor is being near the playoff positions.

Looks good on our progression up to now . Would be great to know in how the club is plus any future plans .
One thing which great to see is how many advertising boards there are around the ground . When ilson FC started I don't think one old board was being paid for in that it wasn't being used .
How long have we got greene king for as well .
