ABOUT THE CLUB
Bury Football Club is an English association football club based in Lancashire since its inception in 1885. Two-time FA Cup winners at the turn of the 20th Century, we plied our trade within the English Football League from 1894 until 2019, when financial mismanagement resulted in explusion from the EFL.

With the club and ground now pieced back together, we are again one and in 2024-25 competed in the North West Counties Football League, Step 9 of the football pyramid.

We are the ‘Shakers’ and we play at Gigg Lane.

There's a fair chance that Bury FC could be in our league in a year's time. In terms of attendances they are bigger than Macclesfield with gates of around 6,000 at Gigg Lane.

Last season they won the North West Counties League with 109 points and they will compete in the NPL West Division next season.

The borough of Bury is home to 200,000 people,almost all of whom are football mad, and were never going to take the death of their club lying down.
Today, we are a club reunited; Owned by our fans, we exist to serve the people of Bury .
Currently competing in the 8th tier of EnglishFootball following our Championship winning season in 2024/25, we have ambitious plans to return to the EFL.
With the installation of a state-of-the-art 3G pitch at our near 12,000 seater stadium, the historic Gigg Lane has been transformed into a true community asset and a place that thousands of local people can call home.

In April 2025, The Shakers won the North West Counties Premier Division title with 109 points in front of a league record crowd of 8719.

Bury have signed attacking midfielder Owen Robinson from Marine for an undisclosed fee.
Robinson joined Marine in the summer of 2023, helping them to promotion from the Northern Premier League in his first season before making 45 appearances in the National League North last term. The Mariners, who finished 15th in the division, offered Robinson a new deal for next season, which was turned down.
The 22-year-old's next destination has now been confirmed, with newly-promoted Bury acquiring the services of the former Warrington Rylands, Lancaster City and Bootle man following their promotion to the NPL West Division.
“Owen is an outstanding young footballer," said Shakers boss Dave McNabb. "Primarily, [he is] an attacking midfielder but is capable of playing in for or five different positions.
“His ability to receive the ball in tight areas is excellent, and he is always looking to play forwards and be creative.
“He’s a player I know really well having worked with him twice before, and following his latest experiences at Marine I’m sure this will be the best version of him so far."
Robinson becomes Bury's third summer signing, joining former Radcliffe defender Scott Duxbury and Hyde United's Callum Spooner in completing a move to Gigg Lane.
