We have to stick together at this difficult time. Deaks has proved what a good manager he is over the last two seasons. The main reason we’re not getting results is because of injuries and suspensions as well as inability to score goals. If bringing new players in means moving some of the current players out then so be it. 

Losing Matt Yates was a massive blow. There were times when he kept us in games. I also regret Declan Eratt-Thompson. moving on but players come and go.  Someone said Alfie Roberts had a poor game against Cleethorpes. That surprised me because I thought he looked decent at Lancaster. Why did Dylan Wharton leave?
Anyway it looks like we won't be challenging for a playoff place this season but we always knew that this season would be a tough one.

I thought Alfie Robert’s played well and I did not feel the goals were down to him. I felt we were found  wanting in midfield defensively not winning enough challenges but the main issue is that we did not have any chances to score until Tom Marshall headed just wide in the second half. After that literally that was that! I got the feeling that Deaks is struggling with a small squad with players either injured or carrying injuries. As a result confidence appeared to be very low with players afraid to take risks. Whether the club cannot afford to sign players with the required quality or Deaks cannot get the players he has to perform is a poignant question. I get the impression from posts that the team have been incredibly unlucky in many games this season. When this happens often as I have said earlier confidence drains out of players which means things get worse. It does seem obvious that we are still missing Yates, Declan and obviously Tom Curson. The future could go three ways. Firstly and the one I hope might happen is that the team have a blinder against Leek and win handsomely hence team morale and confidence grows or we struggle on losing and eventually either Deaks admits defeat and leaves. The third option is that the club find some cash from somewhere and they sign some key motivational players. Personally I really hope Deaks stays and can turn it round because we will find ourselves very quickly mired in a relegation struggle if not. As John says we must all stick together and support the club!

Since our liquidation and demotion to step 6 in 2017, we’ve had eight good seasons of improvement and won three promotions back to Step 3. Now for the first time in eight seasons we sit near the bottom of the league table and are experiencing a losing sequence. It’s still very early days so there’s plenty of time to recover. For manager Ian Deakin this is probably a new experience and we need him and his four coaches to find a way out of our downward spiral. It’s pretty obvious that we need some new players to get us through a difficult period with several players carrying injuries. But it’s not easy to persuade decent players to join a struggling club although having a good ground helps. We have a good enough team when every player is fit  but with so many injuries we’re discovering that some of our young squad players are finding it difficult. The likes of Whyle and Sulkowski are decent players but lack confidence in a struggling team. They appear to always play the easy passes rather than take risks. The only players we have who are willing to take on defenders are Brandy (now injured), Essien and Youmbi and because we are struggling to score goals there is always pressure on the defence. We need players like Parker and Marshall who are prepared to run through brick walls for the team and we also need Jamie Walker in his best position. I repeat, there is plenty of time to recover from this position. We’re not in quick sand. We just need a win to restore the belief that will enable us to climb up the table.
